NEW HANOVER COUNTY

A mandatory boil water advisory has been issued for consumers of Carolina Beach.

Crews in Carolina Beach are working to restore water and sewer services. Residents should see water pressure slowly gaining throughout the day.

Residents can use the water to bathe but should boil water for a minute or two before human consumption or use bottled water.

Customers will be notified when testing is completed and service is returned to normal.

PENDER COUNTY

A boil advisory has been issued for a portion of Surf City, town officials announced in a Facebook post Saturday.

“At this time, we are issuing a boil water advisory for the island portion of Town, including property located up to JH Batts Rd,” the post stated. “This advisory does not affect the mainland portion of Town after JH Batts to Highway 17.”

Officials say the advisory is in effect until further notice.
