(Source: WECT) NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The National Weather Service confirms an EF0 tornado touched down briefly at 9:30 Saturday night. The tornado touched down on the north side of Porters Neck Road between Porters Neck Road and Tibbys Drive. According to the National Weather Service, the tornado traveled a quarter mile, for less than two minutes, reaching a maximum wind speed of 85 mph.
