Expected scattered storms around Houston could bring flooding, small hail
More showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit the Houston area today, bringing the possibility of flooding and pea-sized hail, according to the National Weather Service.
Frequent lightning and winds stronger than 30 mph are also possible. Meteorologists say the showers and thunderstorms will be disorganized.
Some areas could see between 1 to 3 inches of rain into the afternoon, the weather service said.

An inch of rain has already fallen in the last 15 min at Carpenters Bayou and Wallisville, said Jeff Lindner, a meteorologist with the Harris County Flood Control District.
Much of the rain is expected this morning into the afternoon. Precipitation is expected to taper off into the evening, forecasters say.
