Flooding lessens in Texas from remnants of Imelda and hurricane Jerry is headed for Bermuda
The tropics are very active — we are tracking Humberto, Imelda, Jerry and two other tropical waves.
Imelda
Bands of heavy rain will slowly taper off overnight Friday over southeastern Texas and western Louisiana. Some areas southwest of Beaumont have had around 30 inches of rain since Tuesday morning. Amounts of five to ten inches of rain are common over eastern Texas and western Louisiana.

Here is the 7 Day rainfall outlook over the area — this rainfall is just from Imelda. Southeast Texas will be inundated with heavy rains through at least Thursday. Rainfall totals could locally exceed 10 inches. Houston is very flat and the way the water drains out is through bayou system. This is a very slow process. We do expect flash flooding to occur and it could be life-threatening.
Below is the Futurecast, showing the tropical rains moving onshore in the next 48 hours.
Humberto
Hurricane Humberto continues to move over the open waters of the Atlantic after brushing Bermuda last Wednesday night. Hurricane Jerry may brush them late next Tuesday night.

Hurricane Jerry
Jerry was upgraded to a hurricane at 11 AM Thursday. Here is the track from the National Hurricane Center, showing the cone of uncertainty staying to the north side of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. This is a storm to watch over the next week as it could threaten Bermuda next Tuesday, the 24th.
