ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Pablo has become a hurricane — the sixth of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season.

The latest update from the National Hurricane Center shows Pablo far away from the U.S. — about 535 miles northeast of Lajes Air Base in the Azores and packing maximum sustained winds of 75 mph, with higher gusts.

Tropical-storm-force winds are extending out up to 80 miles from Pablo’s center.

Pablo is currently moving toward the north-northeast at 32 mph. The system is expected to turn toward the north Sunday before moving toward the northwest on Monday.

Slow weakening is expected to begin Sunday night. There are not currently any watches or warnings in effect.
