HOUSTON — Liberty County is under a tornado warning until 12:30 p.m.

“This storm is moving east at 20 mph. Quarter size hail and 60 mph wind gusts are possible within this storm,” KHOU 11 Meteorologist Erika Lopez said.

Another round of strong thunderstorms and scattered showers is possible across the Greater Houston area this afternoon.

Coverage shouldn’t be as widespread and the storms shouldn’t be as severe, but keep your guard up and stay weather ready with our weather app and khou.com.

After today, rain chances drop dramatically as a ridge of high pressure build back in. This will bring back above average temperatures for the Houston area but also lots of sunshine for the weekend. We seem to remain under the influence of this ridge through the start of next week which will keep us pretty dry as well.
