Hurricane Hanna, which was updated to a Category 1 from a tropical storm, barreled toward central and south Texas coasts and made landfall Saturday evening.
Hurricane Hanna makes landfall at Padre Island
Hurricane Hanna made landfall at 5 p.m. Saturday at Padre Island. The storm was moving west at 8 mph and producing up to 90 mph sustained winds.
Corpus Christi began to see heavy rainfall Thursday morning which is expected to continue through Monday, creating a chance of flash flooding in the area, and a moderate chance of river flooding.
A dangerous storm surge is predicted for Corpus Christi, Matagorda and Galveston bays.
