Nearly 5,700 without power along Outer Banks as Tropical Storm Isaias approaches

Nags Head, N.C. — Some people along the Outer Banks had to deal with a power outage Sunday that had nothing to do with the storm.
Thousands of people in the Nag’s Head area are without power as Tropical Storm Isaias gets closer to North Carolina.
Equipment failure started a fire at a distribution station in Nags Head.
Thick black smoke filled the air at the substation as first responders shut down the street and told people to stay away.
Earlier Sunday, over 8,000 people were without power.
By 10:30 p.m., that number of people without power was down to 5,700.
Dominion Energy officials said there is no estimated restoration time for the people still without power.
