Tropical Storm Marco was upgraded to Hurricane Marco before eventually downgrading to Tropical Storm status on Sunday night. The storm continues on a track toward the northwestern Gulf coast.

Tropical Storm Marco was recorded as having maximum sustained winds of 70 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. It is located 185 miles south-southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi river.

It is forecast to continue to move north-northwest as it approaches Louisiana Sunday into Monday. It is expected to make landfall in Louisiana and is forecast to weaken rapidly by early Tuesday, the latest NHC update states.

The National Weather Service has issued a hurricane warning in Louisiana from Morgan City to the Mouth of the Pearl River as Tropical Storm Marco approaches, according to the National Hurricane Center’s 10 p.m. update on Sunday.
