Liberty County wildfire 90-percent contained; Nearby residents can return

CLEVELAND, Texas — Several crews have almost contained a wildfire burning in Liberty County.

Nearby residents who were evacuated can return to their homes.

There are no reports of injuries.

The fire is off County Road 3810 about seven miles southwest of Cleveland.

Crews from Liberty, Montgomery County and San Jacinto counties battled the wildfire with help from the Texas A&M Forestry Service.

At this point, we don’t know how the fire started. 

This is a developing story. We’ll post more here as we get information on this fire.
