Beautiful Sunday evening awaits as central NC dodges severe weather

Raleigh, N.C. — Despite severe weather threats entering the day, Sunday turned into one of the nicest days of the year.
“We thought that cold front could produce a few showers and a few storms this afternoon, but luckily it’s just too weak,” meteorologist Zach Maloch said.
Instead, the weather couldn’t really be much nicer.
“Make those evening plans, get out for a walk, it is beautiful out there,” Maloch said.
Temperatures will drop from the 70s into the 60s as the sun sets this evening.
Sunshine is going to move in on Monday, when it will be cooler and less humid at times. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s and you can expect plenty of sunshine. Things will get rather windy on Monday, however.
Looking ahead to next week, it will be hot and mostly dry, although there will be a chance for a shower on Wednesday.
Pollen invasion
According to Campbell, although pollen counts typically peak for about three weeks, this week was probably the worst of it.
Campbell said that pine pollen is the yellow pollen that gets all over everything, but it may not be what’s making your eyes water.
“Some of the pollens that cause the biggest issues are the ones that you really can’t see,” Campbell said.
