Raleigh, N.C. — Flooding in Metcalf Residence Hall at North Carolina State University is forcing hundreds of students out of their dorms Monday night.
The cause of the flooding is believed to be a sprinkler that activated on the 11th floor.
Students are being evacuated and cannot stay in the building Monday night. Many students say they have been waiting more than four hours to go inside and gather their belongings.
A student on the 11th floor told WRAL News the sound of the shower woke her up from her nap.
Some students said they will stay with friends or go home early for Thanksgiving.
