CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Tonight
Much drier conditions tonight as the storm system pulls away from the Carolinas. Record rainfall fell in parts of the area including Charlotte. And this round of ran caused widespread flooding.
Flooding remains a concern tonight through tomorrow especially near rivers, creeks, and streams. Use caution if you live or travel near bodies of water dealing with elevated levels. Floodwater may be slow to recede, so be prepared to turn around and find a different route.
Windy conditions will continue tonight despite the absence of rain and storms. The storm threat is over, but we’ll continue to deal with gusty winds that could cause a few more power outages. Use caution as you approach tree debris, storm damage, and avoid downed powerlines.
Tomorrow
Sunshine is back tomorrow with highs in the 50s. Dry weather will continue again on Thursday with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.
Friday & Weekend Outlook
Our next storm system arrives on Friday with numerous showers and severe storms are possible. We will continue to keep you updated on the developing storm system as you make plans. This weekend looks great with sunshine and much cooler temperatures.
