AUSTIN, Texas — *A Flood Watch is in effect for Milam County through 6 p.m. on Tuesday*
Good Tuesday Central Texas. We will continue to track a plethora of rainy conditions throughout the day. This morning’s rain added another quarter to half an inch of rain to yesterday’s totals of 2-3+”.
Throughout Tuesday additional accumulations could get up to 2 inches, especially east of the I-35 corridor. This goes along with an ongoing flood risk, portions of the area are also under a -marginal risk- for severe weather, as some isolated thunderstorms could contain gusty winds, small hail, or a brief spin-up tornado.
But our flood risk for Tuesday is higher, as the majority of our area is under a -slight risk- for excessive rainfall, a level 2 out of 4.
Wednesday will be our last day of dreary conditions, with showers and storms still possible throughout the morning and early afternoon hours. The rain will favor our fareast counties for the 3rd day in a row, so be aware of road conditions while commuting. The risk for flooding will remain elevated for those eastern counties, now under a -marginal risk- for excessive rainfall. a level 1 out of 4.
By Thursday, much drier conditions will greet us for the morning, and afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 70 degrees!
We track another round of showers for Friday evening as a cold front pushes across the region. That front will cool our high temperatures to the lower 60s this weekend, but thankfully sunshine will stay abundant as we start next week.
