Carolina Shores asking residents to complete survey detailing Waccamaw River flooding issues

CAROLINA SHORES, NC (WWAY) — Carolina Shores officials are asking residents to complete a survey regarding their experience with flooding from the Waccamaw River.
Cape Fear Resource Conservation & Development (CFRCD) is partnering with ms consultants, Inc. to evaluate flooding within the Waccamaw River Watershed and identify potential mitigation options.
The project is anticipated to be the first step in a larger effort to identify and implement flood mitigation measures within the Waccamaw River Drainage Basin, according to a press release.
The project team is currently collecting information from residents related to flooding concerns within the Waccamaw River Watershed. Residents are invited to complete a survey to provide input on flooding that you have experienced and discuss the project scope.
