EAGLE ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — Flooding continues to have impacts cross the Cape Fear this week, including at the Battleship North Carolina.
The entrance and exit to the battleship flooded with high water after Monday’s storm. The national landmark has faced issues with flooding for years.
A $4.5 million dollar “Living with Water” project is currently underway to raise the parking lot and reduce flooding.
A study commissioned by the battleship that showed a 7,000% increase in tidal flooding on Eagle Island since 1961.
