Few showers overnight, severe weather impact over
It was a day to stay weather aware due to strong-to-severe storms pushing through the Carolinas.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
This Evening & Overnight
After an active day, make sure to exercise caution on the roads from leftover storm debris, such as downed trees and power lines. Watch for areas of dense fog overnight through Monday morning with lingering showers in the mountains.
This Week
Monday is the pick of the week in Charlotte with highs in the mid 60s and lows in the 40s. A few showers and more clouds are possible Tuesday (New Year’s Eve) with a weak system passing by. This eventually turns us colder than average into the first few days of 2025.
Looking Ahead
There is a lot of model support for colder than normal conditions for the first week of 2025 but eventually bitterly cold conditions for the second week of the new year.
You may be seeing a lot of “wish casting” for snow at that same time. Many models show large snowstorms that never happen so please be cautious of believing everything you see!
It is way too early to know whether that could happen in the Carolinas so stay with our team for localized updates over the next two weeks.
