San Antonio bakery to donate proceeds from new item to California wildfire victims
A San Antonio bakery is helping victims of the ongoing California wildfires by donating proceeds of special, limited-time cupcakes it’s introduced.
Alamo Heights’ SusieCakes, 7322 Jones Maltsberger Road, Suite 218, will donate 100% of the net proceeds from its California Wildfire Support Cupcakes to organizations aiding those affected by the natural disaster.
The cupcakes, which cost $5.99, are available in either chocolate or vanilla, and they’re topped with vanilla buttercream along with red, white and blue sprinkles plus a red heart.
The Los Angeles-area Palisades and Eaton fires have burned through 40,000 acres, damaging at least 12,300 structures and killing at least 24 people since igniting last week, NBC News reports.
A conglomerate of firefighters from San Antonio-area and South Texas communities, including Boerne, Schertz, Canyon Lake, Pharr and New Braunfels, headed to Southern California on Saturday to help fight the blaze.
California-based cake and cookie shop SusieCakes operates six stores in Texas, including the recently opened Alamo Heights location. The store is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays.
