The Pick of the Week today; severe weather chances by the end of the weekend

Sunday is officially a Weather Alert Day for the Charlotte area. A mean line of storms will drag widespread severe storms across multiple states Friday-Sunday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. â
Today
It’s sunny skies and unseasonably warm temperatures. Highs will be in the upper 70s to around 80. 80 degrees is the warmest high so far in 2025. Today will either tie or surpass that number. Tonight will be mostly clear with lows in the upper 40s (5-10 degree warmer than the last three early mornings).
Thursday and Friday
Delightful both days with highs in the mid-70s Thursday and in the upper 70s Friday afternoon. There will be more clouds Thursday and Friday but sunshine won’t be lacking. Expect it to be mostly cloudy at times but a better term will be a mix of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures at night will only fall into the low-50s.
Make sure not to miss the Total Lunar Eclipse Thursday night into Friday morning.
Weekend storm threat
- Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy
- Wind gusts up to 30 mph during the afternoon and evening
- Highs in the mid-70s Saturday afternoon
- Slight chance for showers during the evening
- Sunday will be a Weather Alert Day with severe thunderstorms in the forecast Sunday morning into the afternoon. The timing is still developing. Check back in for updates on storms that could bring damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
