Road closures & fire spread concerns

Fire officials warn that high winds are pushing flames toward Cleveland and Liberty County. Visibility is low on Interstate 69, and residents should avoid travel unless evacuating.

“We expect to be battling this blaze well into the night,” said Montgomery County Fire Marshal Jimmy Millsaps. “However, increasing humidity may help slow its spread.”
