HOUSTON — Hurricane Beryl devastated Texas earlier this week when it made landfall as a Category 1 storm. The Houston area is recovering and will be for quite some time.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has a way for residents to report damage to residential, commercial and/or agricultural property through a tool called iSTAT.  It stands for Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool.  Filling out the form helps to determine the extent of the damage. It also helps identify immediate needs.

Keep in mind, filling out iSTAT is not a substitute for reporting damage to your insurance company. Reporting damage through iSTAT also doesn’t guarantee disaster relief help, according to the state.

When you are on the website, make sure you select “July 7- Ongoing Hurricane/Tropical Storm Beryl.”
