Distribution sites: Where to find food, water, ice, supplies after Hurricane Beryl
As a massive power outage drags on, many hurricane victims are running out of non-perishable food, water and other essentials.
HOUSTON — The following organizations are distributing food, water, ice or supplies for Hurricane Beryl victims in the Houston area.
Distribution drives on Thursday, July 11
Precinct 1, Walmart and Universoul Circus
Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen’s office is teaming up with Walmart and Universoul ️to distribute water at several Houston sites.
Acres Homes: 4 -5 p.m. at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 6616 D. S. Bailey Houston
Acres Homes: 4 -5 p.m. at Cliftdale Missionary Baptist Church
Greenspoint 6 – 7 p.m. at Harvest Time Church, 1770 Imperial Valley Dr.
Academy in Missouri City
Starting at 1 p.m., Academy Sports + Outdoors in Missouri City will be distributing free 24-packs of bottled water — while supplies last — to help those affected by the local mandatory water boil caused by Hurricane Beryl.
Customers can look for the 18-wheeler parked in front of the store to pick up their free case of bottled water (no purchase necessary). Academy will be donating nearly 1,600 24-packs of water in total to the residents of Missouri City and surrounding area.

Houston Housing Authority supply drive
The Houston Housing Authority (HHA) is stepping up to support the community with a free community resources drive and a partnership offering utility bill relief.
This resources drive is open to the entire Houston community, providing essential supplies such as food, water, ice, MREs, fresh produce and cleaning and sanitizing supplies, and more.
HHA aims to serve at least 1,000 Houston families at the free event taking place Friday, July 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the HHA central office, 2640 Fountain View Drive, 77057.
Additionally, many residents have lost work due to the storm. HHA is also partnering with Gulf Coast Community Services Association to offer crucial financial assistance for utility bills.

Catholic Charities on Saturday, July 13
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will provide food, water, and cleaning supplies to individuals and families as they recover from Hurricane Beryl. A drive-thru distribution will occur on Saturday, July 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the agency’s headquarters at 2900 Louisiana Street in Houston.
Counselors will be on hand to meet with anyone experiencing extreme trauma as a result of the hurricane, and prayer resources will be available upon request.
Limited financial assistance will be available starting next week by applying online. Check Catholic Charities’ social media pages and website for further details.
The Mamie George Community Center at 1111 Collins Road in Richmond will be open on Friday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to serve as a cooling center for those seeking respite from the heat.
