CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

This evening 

Heavy rain continues tonight for portions of the Charlotte area. The area is experiencing the impact of deep tropical moisture, which is causing downpours from slow-moving storm cells. The impact for flash flooding will likely increase tonight. 

Stay weather aware due to excessive rainfall that will have an impact on creeks, streams, and urban area. Added to that – low-lying and poor drainage areas are of most concern from heavy rain events. It’s important to take the flood threat seriously and seek higher ground if you 

The threat for heavy rain and localized flooding is the biggest impact across the Charlotte area Sunday between 7 p.m. and midnight. Some areas may even see rain through the overnight hours. Stay weather aware!

This Week

  • Below average temperatures with daytime highs in the upper 80s. 
  • Showers and storms will likely occur each afternoon and evening. 
  • Humidity levels will remain high and maintain muggy conditions. 
  • Looking ahead towards a cooler end to the week along with rain.
