The Carolina Hurricanes Foundation has stepped up to support the Asheville Hockey League in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

The Foundation has announced a $50,000 donation to help rebuild the organization’s outdoor hockey rink, which was destroyed by the storm.

“We were heartbroken to hear about the devastation to the Asheville Hockey League’s rink,” said Doug Warf, President of the Carolina Hurricanes. “This rink is a vital part of the community, providing a place for thousands of people to play the game they love. We’re proud to support their efforts to rebuild and continue to grow the sport of hockey in North Carolina.”

The Foundation has also pledged an additional $25,000 once the Asheville Hockey League’s GoFundMe campaign reaches $25,000 in public donations. The league is aiming to raise a total of $100,000 to rebuild the rink.

The Asheville Hockey League is a thriving organization with over 1,800 members. It offers various programs, including youth hockey, adult hockey, and inline hockey.
