AUSTIN, Texas — We just wrapped up the warmest October on record and the 2nd driest October on record for Austin, but our weather pattern is now looking a bit more active to start the month of November.
Through the day on Saturday we expect a cloudy sky and scattered showers and storms through the day. The overall rain chance is around 40 percent. Through the first half of the day the rain chance will be highest across the Hill Country, and then rain chances trend higher along and east of I-35 for the afternoon into the early evening. Clouds and rain will keep high temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s.
A strong cold front is on track to arrive in Central Texas late Monday afternoon into Monday night. This front will bring a pretty solid chance for rain, and perhaps even some severe weather with storms capable of hail and strong winds. The stormy weather should be moving out by the mornings hours of Tuesday.
Behind the front, high temperatures drop about 15 degrees. We’ll be in the low 70s for Election Day, and highs will stay in the 70s into the middle of next week.
