Twelve hand-painted barrels are up for auction, all painted in the signature style of each participating artist.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Over a dozen Charlotte artists are coming together for a good cause.

Each artist has created a unique piece of art that is up for auction, with proceeds benefiting western North Carolina relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

It’s happening through a partnership between the TAOH Outdoor Gallery, the Piece for Peace Movement, Legion Brewing, and Trolley Barn Fermentory & Food Hall. Twelve hand-painted barrels are up for auction, all of which were originally used in Legion’s brewing process, and painted in the signature style of each participating artist.

“Using art to express what words cannot for the devastation that Hurricane Helene left in it’s wake, these artists used paint brushes and spray paint to show love for their friends and family that have been directly impacted by the Hurricane,” the event organizers said in a news release.

Bids can be made online through the TAOH Outdoor Gallery, as can donations to the cause without bids.

It’s all leading to a free event Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Legion Brewing’s Trolley Barn on South Boulevard. Featured artists will be there in person, and auction bid winners will be announced at the event.

The participating artists include Arko and Luvly Moon, ESTKO, Jbird the Vandal, Joey Obso, John Hairston Jr., Matt Moore, Mitzi Patton, Osiris Rain, Piece for Peace, Rebecca Lipps, Travis Boersma, and TWOKAT.
