Our weather is pleasant and a little cooler for Christmas Day, but we’re not done with active weather for this week.

AUSTIN, Texas — It was a very active Christmas Eve for the eastern half of our KVUE area with a several severe storms, and even a couple of tornado warnings. We did have several reports of hail sent in, but fortunately no reports of tornado damage. In the wake of these storms, our weather turns briefly quieter for Christmas Day, but storms will quickly return to the forecast for the day after Christmas.

Christmas morning will be completely dry, but will still feature some lingering clouds behind our Christmas Eve cold front. Morning temperatures will be in the low to mid 50s, and we will warm into the mid to upper 60s for afternoon highs. Christmas Day will be completely dry with a good bit of sunshine by the afternoon. Enjoy!

After a nice Christmas, another disturbance swings through Texas on Thursday. This system will once again bring a chance for strong to severe storms.

The Storm Prediction Center includes the I-35 corridor in the level 1 of 5 risk, and eastern portions of the KVUE area in the level 2 of 5 risk. Large hail, strong winds, and an isolated tornado will all be possible.

After the Thursday storm risk, our weather goes completely quiet through the weekend ahead of a cool down heading into the new year.

The KVUE Weather Team will continue to closely monitor this developing forecast.

In the meantime, the extended forecast can be found below:
