Track live forecasts of river flooding ahead of Michael

Raleigh, N.C. — Just weeks after an onslaught of rainfall from Florence, North Carolina is due for another drenching as Hurricane Michael makes its way across the southeast from the Florida panhandle.
The latest forecasts call for up to six inches of rain through the weekend for the central part of the state. And while that’s nowhere near the 30 inches Florence dropped on some areas of North Carolina in September, emergency management officials are closely watching for inland flooding.
