Let’s hope Houston-area residents asked for an umbrella for Christmas.
Storms are expected to drench the area following a foggy Christmas Day in southeast Texas, bringing threats of damaging winds, heavy rain and tornadoes with small hail, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters predict a 20 percent chance of rain and “patchy fog” on a 70-degree Christmas Day in Houston. Chances for storms will gradually increased into Wednesday with wind gusts as fast as 25 mph.
The worst of the storm will likely hit Wednesday night into Thursday morning. That’s when tornadoes and hail are possible throughout southeast Texas. Up to three inches of rain is also possible in some areas, the weather service reported.
Skies look to start clearing up by Thursday afternoon. Houston residents can enjoy a brief respite from the rain at least until Friday night, when forecasters again predict a 20 percent chance of showers.
