City of Corpus Christi offering free sandbags to residents during hurricane season

Solid Waste Services is offering free sandbags to residents, according to a news release from the city of Corpus Christi.
The Sandbagger machine will be available for residents from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the JC Elliott Collection Center, State Highway 286 at Ayers Street, the release states.
A valid government-issued ID is required to enter the collection center.
Residents can take up to six 50 pound sandbags, per vehicle. Crews will help residents load bags.
More sandbag collection will be planned during hurricane season, the release states.
