Brunswick County Disaster Information Session held for Hurricane Florence and Matthew victims

LELAND, NC (WWAY)– Dozens came out Monday night in Brunswick County to learn more about how to get help with hurricanes.
The North Carolina Office of Recover & Resiliency held a disaster information session at Johnson Chapel in Leland.

Multiple organizations were on hand to inform community members about available aid to help with recovery and damage from past disasters, as well as future ones.
North Carolina Emergency Management Representative, Keith Acree explained what the sessions biggest goal was.
“This is the one year anniversary week for Hurricane Florence, and we are coming up on the three year anniversary of Hurricane Matthew. So we really want people who were effected by those storms to know that there are still recovery programs they can take advantage of,” Acree said.
