The Houston Zoo is coming to the aid of animals Down Under, donating $5,000 to help people and wildlife injured or left homeless by wildfires in Australia.

The Houston Zoo is coming to the aid of animals Down Under, donating $5,000 to help people and wildlife injured or left homeless by wildfires in Australia.

The donation, according to a blog post by the Houston Zoo, was sent to the Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund, which is being run by  Zoos Victoria.

“All of the funds raised will be used for critical care and long-term recovery of Australian Wildlife,” stated the local zoo. “We encourage those who wish to learn more about their important work to visit: www.zoo.org.au/fire-fund/”
