National Weather Service ranks Houston's biggest weather disasters, from ice storms to tornadoes

In the last decade, Houston and the Texas southeast region have made national headlines for catastrophic weather events that have left many speechless.
In 2017, Hurricane Harvey devastated the southeast coast, with the storm dropping a whopping 60 inches in the region, according to a Houston Chronicle report. The storm causes widespread flooding, killed dozens and destroyed thousands of homes.

People are still reeling from the effects of Harvey, which was one of the most devastating hurricanes to hit the Gulf of Mexico.
But other weather events across the Houston area, such as the Tax Day Floods or the March 2014 Ice Storm, also wreaked havoc for many Texans.
