CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is actively monitoring Tropical Storms Marco and Laura and reviewing emergency response plans among all City departments.

The City is working closely with the National Weather Service (NWS) and though the forecast confidence is low, the NWS forecast shows Tropical Storm Laura over Cuba and meteorologists expect her to reach hurricane strength once she enters the Gulf of Mexico sometime Wednesday. This is expected to bring our Gulf Coast long-period swells, high surf, winds, and dangerous beach conditions.

The City Solid Waste Department wants to remind residents crews will continue collecting Hurricane Hanna debris without interruption.
