Tropical Storm Beta: Where Corpus Christi-area residents can pick up sand bags
The city of Corpus Christi will offer free sand bags for pickup ahead of Tropical Storm Beta on Saturday.
The sand bag distribution will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Bill Witt Park, 6869 Yorktown Blvd. and the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station, Highway 286 and Ayers St.
Residents will received a maximum of 10 sandbags per vehicle, according to a news release sent by the city.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, drivers and passengers should wear face masks and remain inside their vehicles while they are being loaded, the release states.

Other sandbag distributions in the Corpus Christi-area:
Kleberg County: The City of Kingsville will offer self-serve sand and sand bag distribution from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on 1300 E. Corral Ave. A limit of nine sandbags will be allowed per household. Proof of residency is required.
Residents must bring their own trash bags and shovel for self-serve, according to a news release sent by the city.
