Tropical Storm Beta: City runs out of sand bags

The city of Corpus Christi ran out of sand bags at both of its distribution locations Saturday.
The city was offering free sand bags for pickup ahead of Tropical Storm Beta.
The sand bag distribution was taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Bill Witt Park and the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station, Highway 286 and Ayers St.
Residents received a maximum of 10 sandbags per vehicle, according to a news release sent by the city.
Kleberg County: The City of Kingsville will offer self-serve sand and sand bag distribution from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on 1300 E. Corral Ave. A limit of nine sandbags will be allowed per household. Proof of residency is required.
Residents must bring their own trash bags and shovel for self-serve, according to a news release sent by the city.
