Tropical Depression forms near Gulf of Mexico, could become Tropical Storm Gamma

A tropical depression formed Friday morning may become Tropical Storm Gamma as it moves toward the Gulf of Mexico.
Friday morning, Tropical Depression 25 had formed in the Caribbean Sea, according to The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi.
The system is expected to move northwest toward the Yucatan Peninsula and into the southwestern Gulf of Mexico over the next few days. The system is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm, the National Weather Service said in an advisory.
The next named storm on the Greek alphabet is Gamma.
It is too early to determine other impacts to the Texas coast.
Meteorologists are also keeping an eye on another storm nearby. A tropical wave over the eastern Caribbean Sea is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
The wave is forecast to move westward during the next few days. Formation chance is low — 30 percent through the next five days, the National Hurricane Center said in an advisory.
