Municipal Marina Boat Ramp reopens months after Hurricane Hanna

The Municipal Marina Boat Ramp at the Coopers Alley L-Head is reopening seven months after sustaining damage from Hurricane Hanna, the city of Corpus Christi announced on Friday.

The boat ramp is now open for personal and commercial crafts to use along Corpus Christi’s bayfront.

High tides and waves from Hurricane Hanna in July damaged the east and west sides of the ramp. Though the east side of the ramp was opened shortly after the storm, the west side sustained damage that sheared the ramp off the bulkhead and floating docks, a news release said.

“I am delighted to see the boat ramp reopen for community use,” Corpus Christi Mayor Paulette Guajardo said in the release. “Your City Council and I are committed to revitalizing our marina and improved boat ramps are another step in the right direction.”
