Flash Flood Warning Issued For Harris County

Houston’s National Weather Service on Monday declared a flash flood warning through 3:45 p.m. CT across much of Harris County, including most of Houston, Atascosita, Channelview amid days of heavy rainfall.
The NWS in League City has also issued a general flood advisory for the region.
Parts of Interstate 45 near North Main Street and near Beltway 8 took on high water, as did the East Loop at Clinton Drive, according to Houston Transtar. City and county officials recommended staying off the roads.
Heavy rainfall has led to up to 4.5 inches in northeast Harris County over a three-hour span, according to the Harris County Flood Control District.
Today’s rains are causing increasing flooding problems around Houston, where a flash flood warning is in effect. If you encounter a road covered by water, find another way! Water can be deceivingly deadly, and people trapped in vehicles are where most deaths occur in our floods. https://t.co/Yt8krmhtrs
