Round Rock residents photograph brutal tornado damages
Round Rock resident Vivi Simental thanks God she and her family are safe after a tornado hit Round Rock on Monday, March 21. She told MySA that many of her neighbors lost their homes and vehicles, adding all of them will be without electricity for a while.
Several tornadoes touched down across Central Texas on Monday night. The National Weather Service said it was almost their “worst nightmare” too with tornadoes in highly populated areas during rush hour.
The City of Round Rock stated in a Facebook post that many areas in the city have significant tornado damage. Officials are asking others to avoid the areas if possible to allow emergency personnel and those assessing the damage the ability to do their jobs.
“We had minor damage but it was definitely the scariest thing we’ve ever lived,” Simental said. “Pictures do no justice to how bad it was. I saw our neighbors lose their homes. My heart goes out to everyone affected.”
