New Hanover County sets up hurricane recovery donations hub

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) –

New Hanover County has set up a donations hub to make it easier for individuals and organizations to assist with hurricane recovery efforts.

Information on how to volunteer and where to donate supplies can be found at EmergencyNHC.com or by calling 910-798-7337. The call center will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. until further notice.

Early next week, a drop-off center will be accepting bulk amounts or pallets of supplies. Reservations for bulk donations must be made before drop-off by calling the number above.

The following items will be accepted:

Batteries
Blankets
Bleach
Brooms
Cleaning supplies
Deodorant
Disposable razors
Diapers
Dry Pet Food
Feminine products and pads
Formula
Hygiene items
Mops
Towels
Wipes

Smaller quantities of these supplies will be directed to organizations and other drop-off sites.

Residents in need of supplies can visit EmergencyNHC.com or call the Donations Hub call center at 910-798-7337 for information on where to pick up items.
