Tropical Storm Harold has South Texas locals praising torrential rain
While Tropical Storm Harold continues to beat down on the coast as it works its way inland, some are just glad to see some much needed rain during a time when Texas is experiencing drought, despite the severe weather.
One TikTok user by the name of @ladyrainfrost was so grateful for the rain, they decided to step out of the house and watch the downpour from the porch with what appears to be a cup of tea in hand. They wrote, “We welcome tropical storm Harold with open arms.”

@amestx269 didn’t seem fazed by the tropical storm saying, “It’s just a little rain.” They even managed to show up for work as Harold beat down on the area.
@qlauraq2 appeared to think the storm was blown out of proportion when she went out to survey “damage” done to the backyard. The first thing they noticed was the rain, quipping, “Oh, wet stuff falling from the sky. I don’t know what to make of this.” The storm had knocked over a few items, including some potted plants and they remained confident that they “we’re just trying to survive,” and that they planned to “rebuild.”

Footage of Harold shot and shared by @sapobbq shows water pouring down and wind whipping the rain sideways. They reported experiencing winds of up to 70 miles per hour and heavy rain limiting visibility. They also mentioned that they had received 2 inches of rain within a 15-minute period.
The storm did nothing to slow down deliveries. A TikTok video posted by @longhorn1985 shows an Amazon delivery driver who has their priorities in order. They wrote, “Mad props to these dudes delivering peoples packages.”
