Caught on camera: Viewer shares video of possible tornado near Bexar County

SAN ANTONIO — Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue across portions of the Hill Country and Bexar County through Thursday afternoon. 

Some pockets of heavy rainfall are falling along the east side of Bexar County. This could drop 1-3 inches of rainfall so stay safe on the roadways. 

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Pleasanton, Floresville and Jordanton until 11:15 a.m. 

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is also in effect for southeast portions of Bexar County including Saint Hedwig, Elmendorf, and China Grove until 11:30 a.m. This could include threats of small hail and strong winds over 40 mph. 

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Bandera, Blanco, Edwards, Burnet, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Llano and Real counties through 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

A Flood Warning is also in effect for Edwards, Real and Uvalde counties until noon today. Heavy rainfall was reported north of Barksdale ranging from 1-5 inches. 

Earlier this morning two potential tornadoes may have occurred earlier this morning in south-central Texas. This threat could remain through around noon along the I-35 corridor as storms are moving northeast. 

A Tornado Warning was also in effect for Hays and Comal County earlier this morning but ended by 9:45 a.m.

Sharon Breckenridge Thomas shared this photo of what looks like a funnel cloud, possibly a tornado, near Fort Sam Houston on Dickman Road around 8:13 a.m. Thursday morning.

Storms moved through quickly leading to reports of wind damage and knocked down trees on across parts of Bexar County. 

By Thursday afternoon a drier airmass will move through the area dropping rain chances to around 20 percent. An active weather pattern continues on Friday and drops again for the weekend.
