LEAGUE CITY, Texas — Water has flooded part of a roadway after a construction crew hit a water main Tuesday. The 1600 block of West League City Parkway has water on the road just west of the Gulf Freeway, the League City Police Department said. Tropical Storm Cristobal is expected to strengthen as it pushes northward through the Gulf of Mexico this weekend, according to the National Hurricane Center. Forecasters expect that the storm will make landfall along the south central Louisiana coast later Sunday.

State and local emergency officials said they’re preparing for the 2020 hurricane season’s first storm in the Gulf of Mexico, while urging Texans to do the same.
