As of Monday morning, more than 10,000 vehicle flood claims have been filed in southeast Texas due to flooding from Imelda. This number comes from the Insurance Council of Texas who said as many as 80 percent of these vehicles will end up being totaled out. HOUSTON (FOX 26) – The American Red Cross is opening up shelters to those who have been affected by rain associated with Imelda and distributing cleanup kits in affected communities. The organization says nine shelters are available to aid those impacted by severe rain and flooding throughout the Texas gulf coast region.
