Rescue Bank’s first shipment of 52,000 gallons of high fructose corn syrup arrived in the Florida Panhandle on Thursday morning. Hurricane Michael wiped out the food supply for bee colonies across the Florida Panhandle. Now a Houston non-profit is racing to keep them from starving. LIBERTY, Texas (FOX 26) – Liberty County Emergency Management officials are recommending that residents along the Trinity River evacuate as the Trinity River Authority is releasing large amounts of water from the Livingston Dam into the river. Firefighters were able to find and rescue flags from the rising flood waters on Lake Travis.  The Lake Travis Fire Department had crews out on the lake Thursday to conduct a hazard assessment when the firefighters came across two flags stranded at the top of a flagpole.  Both a United States flag and a Texas flag were rescued, folded and safely transported to shore. Flooding prompts disaster declaration Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared a state of disaster in 18 flood-stricken counties in Central and South Texas. The declaration lifts state restrictions and regulations on any state response to the emergency. Major flooding is forcing communities across Central Texas to evacuate. The Llano River took out a bridge in Kingsland on Tuesday morning.
